Aww, no drug use? So, we can have people killing each other, but they can't smoke a joint?

Oh and if this is run similar to the Carnapolis games, I'm guess there won't actually be individual quests. Particularly since all the action will happen inside of one city. It's hard to write a journey when they're just going a couple blocks.

Missions. Think stuff like the GTA franchise, except you don't get to hop from one side over to the other whenever you want to or without consequence.

What about drug running? And if a character is an addict is it ok simply to score drugs and disappear into the bathroom? I'm not trying to stir up controversy but since drugs are the cornerstone of organized crime I think we should have the rules laid down explicitly.

that's what i'm saying... my character is a rapper who blazes... if someone were to approach him, he would most likely be chiefin'... that's why i'm trying to get an idea of wassup...

It's Flake's call in the end, but yeah, mention of drugs is fine, just no going into explicit detail about their use. So, if you're J Random Druggie and you've just scored some junk, don't write about how you're feeling as you do it. Like Addicted said, just disappear somewhere.

Mentioning drugs as business deals, etc. I don't think is banned. But again, ask the man in charge.

Don't forget the overall rule of the site, too. Hot-button issues (for lack of a better term) such as drugs, sex, and violence do take some circumspect writing. Doesn't mean your character can't be involved in them but we want to stay away from explicit stuff. So for violence we don't need to see every detail of the spewing entrails, for sex we can make pretty clear what will go on or has gone on without resorting to erotica, and for drugs we can make it pretty clear that someone's scored drugs/done drugs/high on drugs without going into painful detail.

Keep it all tasteful and you're within the rules of the site. If Flake wants to curb it further than that...the GM's word is law within the game. We try to give GM's some autonomy of their own as long as everything falls within site rules.

Personally, with the drug thing, I'd rather not read pages and pages of someone's drug trip.

That's fine. The general rule of thumb I use when posting is "If what I'm posting can get me in trouble with the moderators, I probably shouldn't post it."

Or at least that's what I went by back at WF.org. Things might be a little more lax here, but still, you never know who could be reading what you write in the end.

Lighten up. If you can't come up with a creative way to involve these things other than out and out saying it, I doubt you'd make a very good dealer in RL anyway.
