Another woman walked in, and Mack, more from intuition than anything else, recognized one of his fellow highlanders. He eyed her with interest and a little grin as she moved about the room. Her gaze caught him, but she gave him no more attention than any of the others. All business. He grinned and looked away from her to the beginning discussion at hand.

"What right have you got to get a kid involved in this?"

"I have involved no one, my job is to transport this group."

Mack smiled at the question and response. He turned his head to the bare-chested heathen who sat only a few chairs away.

"I think it might be best if we refrain from makin' too many judgments before we've been briefed." He slumped back in his chair a bit.

"Wouldn't ye say?"

The seaman checked his watch. Five minutes gone; an eternity in military time. Why wasn't she answering the door? "Ms. Archer?" he called, knocking again. "Ms. Archer you're needed in the conference room ASAP. Ms. Archer!"

Another seaman approached. "What's the hold up?" he asked, pausing alongside the first man.

"She won't come out. I know she's in there. That little b**ch is ignoring me again."

"Calm down," the other man said, grabbing a key ring from his back pocket and searching for the correct one. He gently rapped on the door. "You've got five seconds to open this door or we're coming in." He counted down slowly, but still no response. As promised, he stuck the key in the lock, turned it and slowly opened the door.

Alison was lying on her back, on the bed, iPod cranked up to maximum volume, with a book draped over her face, as though she had fallen asleep while reading. "You've got to be kidding me," the second seaman said, shaking his head in pity, then nodded toward the first man. "Wake her up and get her to the conference room. We don't have all day," then he walked out of the room and disappeared down the hall.

The remaining man angrily snatched the book off her face and was met with a pair of cold grey eyes staring back at him. She had been wide awake all along. "I was reading that," she said in a calm whisper.

He glanced at the book in his hand; an instruction manual for an XG-55 rifle. In all his years in the military, he had never heard of such a thing. What the hell was she doing here if she didn't even know how to use her weapon? He threw the book against the wall. "You're wanted in the conference room. NOW." She stared at him curiously, not hearing a word he'd said. "Dammit!" He snatched the headphone chord off of her iPod. "Conference room. Now. Go."

"Okay. Got it," she said, slowly rising to a sitting position. He watched impatiantly as she slowly made her way around the room. First, she picked up the book he'd tossed, and tucked it into a small backpack in the corner. Then she put on the backpack. Then she went to a large case in the corner, which looked like an enormous piece of luggage.

"We don't have all day," he said, making no attempt at hiding his frustration. "It's just a briefing, you don't need to bring anything." But she paid him no mind. She opened the case, which was covered in caution tape and strange warning symbols; enough to baffle even the most seasoned scientist. There was a large gun inside. It looked like a cross between a futuristic sniper rifle and a howitzer, and was painted flat black to keep a low profile. "You won't need it," the man repeated."

She responded in a cold monotone, "but I want it," then slung the gun's strap over her shoulder and headed off down the hall. The last thing he saw was her switch on her iPod before she disappeared around the corner.

* * * *

Alison reached the room and paused at the doorway to see what she was dealing with. There was a white suited man standing at the front, an Asian lady who seems to think she's a samurai, two religious nuts, a geeky girl in sunglasses, a tatted up shirtless Neanderthal, two other ladies who seemed of little consequence, and a small child. Quite an eclectic group to say the least. Alison removed her ear buds and found a spot along the wall, in the back of the room, where she took a seat on the floor and waited for the white suit to start talking... since that's all white suits do anyway, talk. Meanwhile, she ponded who would be the easiest target, for herself or the enemy. That's the one she would have to keep an eye on. Maybe the little girl... no, kids can run pretty fast.

"We could have been briefed three days ago and allowed to find out who we was working with. If that kid's been left alone for three days with no contact like the rest of us... I'll refrain from speaking my mind till I find the suitable candidate. That do?"

The captain's accent was already grating on him and that look did little to impress him. If the kid wasn't here he might have distorted his face and given the man nightmares for a week. He'd always thought of his ability as a physical weapon at first, then he'd been shown the manipulation and infiltration element. Finally he'd found out the psychological damage it could cause. He'd became much more aware of how he acted after that. While magic had bloomed not everyone had came to term with quite all the abilities out there and even if they had... well theres just some things people don't want to see. A mirror image of them for example... in a condition they never wanted to dream of.

He was making friends already. Just how to act after social isolation. Alienate yourself. Good work Danny. Another women entered just in time to miss his little talk on ethics and his views. This was why he worked alone. Clearly he wasn't a people person. Or perhaps he was to much a people person that it stopped him from been one? That didn't make sense he dismissed the thought and settled on the truth. He spent so much time pretending to be someone else he'd lost how to be himself. Thats why he was so bad at interacting with others.

Another woman? This was going to be a fun mission indeed. This one, too, seemed to have all guards up, and she scanned the room absently before finding a seat. Mack turned his head back to the pagan.

"...could have been briefed three days ago and allowed to find out who we was working with. If that kid's been left alone for three days with no contact like the rest of us... I'll refrain from speaking my mind till I find the suitable candidate. That do?"

Mack nodded, still slouching a bit and wearing a crooked grin.

"Aye, I imagine so."

Akane looked over the proceedings with interests, and she, too, held reservations about bringing the child here. The world had become a strange place, and many strange things were possible. But a child was a child; and sending one into a war was still wrong. Still, Akane would preserve her own honor in obedience to her superiors...and take it upon herself to personally defend the child if it came to that.

The bearded slouching man was religious, as evidenced by the Christian symbol he wore. Though not as much so as the stone-faced one who had entered. In him, Akane saw little but wrath and judgment. Odd, considering that she had heard the Christian faith was to be one of love.

Though it was true that love was interpreted in many ways.

Akane remained standing even as some others were seated. She would not sit until her superior had done so.

The man gave her permission to speak, but before Ava could tell the white suited man she did not understand the question, they were interrupted by the bald man with the many drawings on his body. There was much shouting and pointing, but Ava’s mind had already wandered. Unless she was addressed directly, the conversation did not concern her, and if the conversation did not concern her, she could let her mind wander.

With so many people talking, Ava briefly wondered who she would be answering to. The man in white already knew her name, even before she had introduced herself. Ava found the thought... ‘calming’, the incident with the sailor fresh in her mind. People could be confusing, not ‘calming’, talking to her and leaving her unsure of what they expected of her.

Even if she disagreed with the way he voiced his opinion, Meav had to agree with the Serbian. Bringing a child along was beyond ridiculous. It didn't matter if she was skilled or superior or if the way she watched the two men argue was a little too detached for Meav's liking, she was still a child - someone whom they should be trying to protect, not exploit.

She glanced sideways at the bearded man as he spoke up. A fellow highlander, and a Christian judging from the crucifix around his neck. Meav wondered if he really had tried not to make any judgements, or if he was simply keeping them to himself.

"Perhaps, then, we should get the briefing done with and then we'll be free to make judgements as we please," she suggested, more than a little facetiously, "Rather than getting on our high horses straight away."

Joseph allowed his question to go unanwsered for now, determined to find out if this girl could be trusted. Either way, his mission dictated transportation not engagment, he would likely not see her for a long while anyways. "Vealcomen (Is german, spelled with W but pronounced V so spelled it phoneticly) everyone, please take your seats." He motioned to a sailor who had sat in the back to start the projector and then leave. He waited for the man to leave and everyone to be seated before he returned to the front of the room by the slide showing a satilite image of NY.

"Our target is New York city. It was the first location to fall under demon control and has remained unchallenged and vith little inteligence coming out of it." He paused for a moment to make sure everyone was listening, anoyed that some did not seem to think it was important. "Ve should be breaching the enimies defencive boundary now. I have yet to find any resistance that is significant under water. Ve vill sneak under and drop you off as close as possible." He looked up at the map itself for a moment. "Your job is to gather inteligence, report back, and then, if possible strike a blow against the demon's leadership." He added and walked near the back hitting a button to switch the slides. A listing came up of common demons.

Rat Demon:
Imp:
Humanoid Demons:
Stalker:
Hellscarab:
Snapper:

"The most important of these is the Humanoid demons, they look human, though usually with small differences, pointed ears, red eyes, are some examples of those differences." He started and opened his mouth to speak only uttering. "Inttell...." Before the ship lurched. Joseph relying on years of sea expereince easily caught himself and without saying a word walked to the phone on the wall even before it rang. Snatching it after the first sound began. "Was ist passiert?.... Kann der Brücke halten?... Gut, Sie sind verantwortlich, bis Sie hören von mir. Ich werde die Gäste auf dem U-Boot." He said in perfect german.

"The ship is under seige, if you vill all acompany me I vill lead you to the bottom deck vhere ve have a special transport prepared." Even as he finished speaking the door flung open and five german seamen entered with assult riflies.

Fransisco shook his head. "Dejar a los paganos a estropear la entrega." He said harshly, angry at their german host and his failure at even getting them to the target. He snatched up his cross and held it in his right hand, his left still clutched his bible. "Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo." He added making a cross motion with the cross. He wanted to say something else but decided against it. Chances are none of them where smart enough for spanish anyways, but it was better ot be safe.

"May good bless this ship in it's hour of need." He anounced loudly, not caring for any others and possible complaints over the religious anouncment. He did get himself a quick look from the german.

Mack gave a little smile and nod to the lady who had emphasized his point. Whether she noticed or not, the white-uniformed German took charge and began their briefing. Short, simple, to the point and (praise to the Saints) no 'rules of engagement'. Get into the heart of hell on earth and kick Satan in the balls. Easy.

The projector flashed with the ever-active 'Common Demon Species" list. Mack had seen the chart more times than he could count, and had memorized it's mostly-vague and useless information completely.

A lurch in the ship surprised him, and he was impressed to see their CO stride with confidence to the phone; not missing a beat. He exchanged some words in Greman, and informed the motley group that they were under some sort of attack that shouldn't have been happening.

Mission first, though, apparently. A group of soldiers came in to escort them to a presumably smaller and lighter escape craft.

The priest spoke in Spanish, and Mack immediately recognized the phrase's similarity to Latin. A blessing followed:

"May good bless this ship in it's hour of need."

Mack crossed himself.

"Amen."

* * *

Akane had sat at the officer's request and listened intently. The new attack was a surprise, but she had been on her guard since the German had told them that they had crossed into the demons' territory. Now she rose decisively to join their escort, ready to draw blades at a moment's notice should anything happen.

Ava had been staring at the white suit while the man spoke, but in truth, the things he said made little sense to her. Then the room had rocked, forcing her to grip the chair tightly to remain seated. In the case of any calamity, she had been ordered to defend herself, should the need arise. Even as the man in white was shouting words she did not understand, a single black butterfly crept from under the table, fluttering towards the door.

Another butterfly spouted from the fluorescent lights exactly above her, this one yellow and orange, radiant as the tiny creature settled on the table, not far from Ava. A third butterfly crept out of her sleeve, this one red and black, settling on hand.

Then the order came. Accomany the man in white. Avalon let herself slip of the chair and turned to the door, where a few man with rifles had just entered.

Alison listened as the debate over the little girl heated up, then cooled down again. She considered listening to her music player instead, but the white suit looked as thuogh he was about to begin speaking and she didn't want to miss out on anything important. As for the little girl, was it really worth arguing over? She was here now and was going to be coming with them to the battlefield, no matter what these people say. Whatever country had sent that kid wasn't going to let her get benched now. The best anyone in this room can do was make sure the kid doesn't get offed. Or at least make sure her corpse isn't too badly disfigued. Mommy and daddy won't want that.

The white suit took the stage. He immediately ordered a man in the back to hit the lights; the sailor practically stepped over Alison, who was sitting against the wall, by the door, under the light switch. It was still better than sharing a table with the rest of the weirdos.

After darkening the room, the seaman departed and shut the door behind himself, then the white suit -- German it seemed -- started his lecture, which was quite short. So, we're going sightseeing in New York, Alison thought. She wanted to kill demons, not 'gather intelligence'. But, from the looks of things, this plan had a serious intelligence shortage. She would be glad to fill that void.

The ship rocked slightly. They hit something, or something hit them. It was all the same to her. The German got on the phone and called up some friends, who arrived at the door with assault rifles almost instantly. What's the hurry, Alison thought, slowly getting to her feet. She waited by the door as the others got up from their seats, searching through her playlist as she waited. She put one ear bud in her ear and cranked up some classical to set the mood.

"So ve vas saying Mr seamen? No vater encounters?" he said mockingly as the boat shook and some men with assault rifles entered the room. He hadn't fought many demons so far, mainly dealt with humans but he wasn't unfamiliar with the slides he had showed but then again neither were half the teenagers that used the internet. Knowing something about the demons meant nothing, knowing how to act, how to fight them. Now that's what mattered.

When the ship had jolted he'd nearly fell off the chair he was leaning back on. His arm shot out to grab the table turning black for a moment and extending a good hands length to provide him with the distance he needed. That saved him from looking like an idiot he thought it might have attracted some attention but it seemed the girl had gone for centre stage on the strange abilities with butterflies around her. Stuff like this used to be strange and thought of as a bunch of stories. Time sure had changed.

"I want my weapon before we leave. I'll get it myself if need be."

The other Scot nodded and smiled at Meav, but the others ignored her flippant remark as the CO began the briefing. He kept it short and concise; they were to go deep into the heart of demon territory and do as much damage as possible. Meav arched one carefully plucked eyebrow. Nothing too difficult then.

The briefing was interrupted by a sudden lurch in the ship. Meav just managed to stop herself from falling sideways off her chair, and by the time she had righted herself the CO was already on the phone. He conducted a brief conversation in German, making Meav wish she had taken more than just French in school, then turned to explain in English that the ship was under siege.

Everyone was instantly on their feet. The priest uttered a prayer in Spanish, then blessed the ship. Meav couldn’t help a cynical snort.

“The ship’s done for,” she said. “It’s us who need God’s help now.”

Out of the corner of her eye she noticed a butterfly near the door, then caught sight of two more: one on the table, one on the little girl. Meav frowned slightly. What the hell was this girl?

She didn’t have time to ponder the thought now. She wished bitterly that she’d brought her rifle and medical supplies, and wondered if they’d have enough time to get to their quarters.

Erika listened intently on the meeting, she even clicked her sunglasses to record the entire detail of the meeting, even if the facts were to a minimum.

Before the meeting had started she noted everyone and saved their profiles to her archives. She found out everything about everyone and even got to scan the strange girl's rifle, it was a true marvel in magick tech. The only profile she couldn't find was the one on the little girl, it was incredibly strange that they would bring her on, they even had an argument about it.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the ship lurching, she got a hold of the table and the officer tasked to transport the group went over to the phone and started speaking German. Although the thought was completely unnecessary at the time she wondered why she hadn't installed a translator onto her TCS. 5 armed men then bolted in the room and it was clear that it wasn't time to fool around.

She got up and pulled the miniature cube from her pocket. Clicking a button on it the cube transformed into an assault rifle, specially designed to handle magick bullets. She clicked off the safety and started heading over towards seamen.

Joseph was about to ignore the god comment when he heard that his ship declared done for. "The ship vill hold I promise you that." He said confidently and moved past the germans through the door. Two fell in beside him. "I will take the front with these two the other three of my soldiers will gaurd our rear, fall into the middle and we will make our way to the barracks area and retrieve any gear." He ordered and strolled out confidently.

The others eventually fell into line and the three remaining gaurds took rear. The ship shook again, and a scream echoed from somewhere, even Joseph wasn't sure where and he knew this ship better than anyone.

He stormed confidently around the first corner to see one of his own soldiers being strangled by a clear shape. It looked almost like water except that it was too blue and shapped like a man. "Senden Sie das Ding wieder in die Hölle" He said without a moments hesitation as he drew his Lugar. The two germans at his side fired first. Bullets ripping into the demon, it splashed, flowed and reformed in perfect condition. Dropping the man it had held, the man was dead.

"Wir haben eingehende!" Came a shout from behind him.

"In the back there are more." He said and one of his soldiers attemted to charge the shape. Joseph stopped him saying "Bleiben Sie hinter mir." He ordered his men, he held the lugar at his side in his right hand and raised his left as the creature charged. He clamped his hand on the demons mouth and steam hissed. "Fire ist good against water." He anouced.

------------------------------

In the rear four shapes charged the shooting germans. The watery creatures grabbed and slamed the closest of the three germans against the hall wall, he attempted to scream but a watery arm reached down the soldiers throat, drowning him.

The other two qucikly met simular fates. From the front everyone could hear Joseph shout. "Watch the back, we're a short way to the rooms."

In the case of an immediate threat, Subject 00279 is to abandon all wards save for those in the close vicinity and defend herself with any force necessary. Support will, at all times, be present, and should, where needed, call for aid where needed. In these situations, Avalon is to retreat, following the commanding officer unless ordered otherwise.

The screams of the two men behind her were not mere screams for help, but those of terror. Not sounds Ava was familiar with. But they were close enough to cries for help for Ava to respond. The lone red and black butterfly left her hand, buzzing towards the closest demon, the one not currently occupied with choking a sailor to death.

The butterfly seemed awfully small against the charging shape of the liquid demon, and not much happened as first; the demon paid the small manifestation of magic little heed. But then what seemed like a small cut appeared, the slightest of discoloration on the demons surface. The discoloration grew in radius, until it detached itself, and flew away. A second red and black butterfly.

The process repeated itself, again, and again, until nearly four dozen of the tiny shapes were covering the now howling demon, who was trashing and throwing itself against the walls in a desperate attempt to get the little menaces of. With little to no effect. The swarm grew, and less than a dozen seconds after the first butterfly, not only the creatures body, but his very essence was being ripped apart.

Ava paid the whole scene little heed. Her mind was already elsewhere, detached from what was happening only a few feet behind her. An automaton, programmed to react this way to immediate threats, while following an order she had just been given;

Follow the leader.

Chaos. Nothing was worse than chaos. Demons thive on it. Anytime there is chaos, that means the demons are winning. Alison knew this and shook her head in pity as the men panicked and screamed in terror. Their fear and disorder was doing them no good.

She calmly raised her rifle and grabbed a power cell from her backpack, plugged it into a port on the underside of the rifle's frame and locked it into position with a twist and a sharp click. There was a low humming sound as the power bar lit up, measuring the weapon's energy, indicating that it was at half charge. It would take at least two more cells for it to reach full power, but she didn't need all that to handle this minor threat.

The little girl was already making quick work of one of the things. The creature was coated in butterfly-like apparitions, which were slowly devouring it. An interesting talent, the girl had, but not too interesting. Alison shrugged and shifted her attention to one of the other three creatures, since everyone else seemed to be too busy running away from them. She hated close quarters fighting, but she hated running more. She could be quick on her feet when needed, but why bother running when you can just shoot it? What a waste of energy.

She stopped, dropped down on one knee, and shouldered her rifle, meticulously taking aim at her chosen target, which was fast approaching. The seamen attempted to spray it with automatic gunfire, but to no avail. Alison noted their failure and changed her tactics accordingly. She flipped a switch on top, and activated the gun's continuous fire mode, in the hopes that she could evaporate the water demon with a continuous dose of hot laser. Then, without missing a beat, she took aim again and squeezed the trigger.

A red beam connected with the demon's watery body. There was a loud hissing sound accompanied by a rising cloud of steam; it was working. Unfortunately, the creature's body acted like a prism, refracting the beam and splitting it into a dozen different directions. Rainbow-colored lasers crisscrossed the floor, leaving red hot scorch marks on the walls, floor, and ceiling. Alison released the trigger as a purple beam arced within inches of her face. The stray laser beams nearly sliced one of the other men in half.

"You're in the way," she said in a whisper. She was accustomed to working alone, without all these redshirts standing about. But keeping them alive was part of the mission -- was it? -- so she would have to stand down for now. Shouldering her weapon, she got to her feet and caught up with the fleeing group. Running away... I hate running away. The only thing she hated more was missing her target. Fortunately, she hadn't done that in a long time.

Fransisco Watched with interest as two of the demons where slain. "de nuevo falta demonios, el único verdadero Dios está conmigo y por su voluntad me comando que no pase!" He shouted raising the cross in one hand, tucking the bible into his belt and drawing out a pouch of salt and pureing it from the pouch onto the ground in a line. The two remaining demons charged him and slamed head on into the glory of god. "En nombre de dios le pido salir de este lugar, esta claro, mi vista!" Fransisco said stepping forward and placing the cross closer to the demons. They slid back slightly withering and fighting against the magic.

Akane was near the last one to leave, and she saw immediately that the physical force of the bullets did the creatures no harm; and neither would her swords. But, she also noted that the creatures were much more viscous than water. One narrowed into a long tentacle that raeched out for her. Her katana loosed from its sheath with a hiss, and part of the demon fell to the floor, cutting its reach short and forcing it to reform itself. It wouldn't kill or hurt it, but it bought time.

She drew her shorter wakizashi in her left hand, and swung deftly at any part of the aquatic demons that made it close. The child brought forth her own work of cunning, and indeed Akane would have stopped and wondered further at the magic that was loosed; if the situation was any less desperate. Another woman; one who had with little respect or acquiescence in the briefing room now unloaded a volley of laser rounds into another. As the group fled, the priest performed an incantation of his own.

Mack had drawn his pistol and reflexively fired along with their new CO; but it only took one shot to realize he was pretty much useless here. Instantly, he wished he had dragged his backpack along. It'd be a matter of a few seconds to put together a Molotov and get rid of these things.

Instead, he had to run with the others. He turned back to see the priest waging an unseen war against the demonic creatures; and he watched spellbound for a moment. Almost absently, he spoke as he crossed himself yet again.

"Quod cum vidisset omnis populus, cecidit in faciem suam, et ait: Dominus ipse est Deus, Dominus ipse est Deus."

Strange water daemons were forming up. The little girl used a strange butterfly magick, the teenager used her rifle beam which made even smaller refracting beams and the priest was using the power of God or something.

She noted that normal automatic fire was working to no avail. Instead she flipped a switch on her gun to a dark blue colored circle. She took aim and a beam of ice shot from her gun freezing one of the water daemons. She then round house kicked the frozen daemon her boot connecting and causing it to shatter to pieces.

Happy with her kill she ran off with the others in retreat. It wasn't the greatest plan, but it was certainly better than dying.

Alice had followed the group as the ship came under attack, she stayed clear of others and offered up no conversation. As they moved towards their destination Joseph suddenly stopped and began to speak fluently in his native tongue. Demons appeared blue in colour, Alice’s defences instantly kicked in. her skin began to glow and as the group began to take on targets she singled out her own. She lifted her cull sleave it was alive with electricity coursing up and down it. The blue of her eyes began to spread and the demon spoke to her in it’s tongue she easily replied to the guttural speech and the demon moved closer.

She stretched her hand out to the demon and it watched with eyes that were dull and uninterested. As the bolt began to form across her arm, the exoskeleton hidden beneath her flesh could be seen, thick bone plates that moved into place to protect her. Those bones were the extra weight none could see. The electricity shot out from the sleave she wore and slammed into the demon, it withered and shook on the floor, then became still. She looked it over taking in it’s appearance.

Fransisco watched as the woman spoke with the demon and then shocked it. It calapsed tot he floor withered and then slowly desolved into a pile of slime. "Mejor el diablo sabe que el diablo no." He said thoughtfully, though he added. "Dios para ver mi espalda me temo que va a apuñalar." He scowled at her, put the pouch of salt back into his pocket, kissed his cross while glaring and then strolled after the others. A demon was in their mist, he was sure of it, his years of training to spot those under the influence and of course haveing heard demons speak before told him he was right. He would have her burned before the quest was through, but first he needed the others to support him.

Danny watched the people around him to see how they acted. To see what, who, he was working with. It seemed he wasn't the only one with a trick up his sleeve the first one seemed to create a gun out of nothing. Well a cube, but that was pretty impressive. He'd have to acquire one of those. Right now his asset was his short range ability but it was a weakness been overly reliant on that. If he could lay his hands on that...

Well he'd be completely flexible and the Serbs would pay him well for a bit of technological dynamite like that. He'd have to keep an eye on that one. With its ability it would make acquiring schematics for new weapon projects all the easier as well. It seemed made for his job. He'd have a word with that one and see if she was cooperative. If not he'd hope she died on the battlefield, if not... well there was plenty of time left.

The captain hadn't rose to his comment instead he'd been swift to defend his ships glory and start spouting something in another language as they moved down the corridor to find one of his men dying. The girl showed what the butterflies were for now. God who ever had looked after this girl, produced her? They'd done something seriously screwed up. Still whether he agreed with her here or not he could understand why she'd been placed with them at the very least.

Next another weapon caught his eye as lasers shot around the ship in a haphazard fashion. Not the best for combat against this thing but it seemed interesting and if some engineering was applied to the refraction he'd just seen on that weapon... well that would be interesting. He already had ideas whirring on what to inform the engineers on combat application with the weapon perhaps he'd even inform this women since it might help save some of their lives. But then again he was already plotting some dubious endings for his own devices.

The others acted efficiently but nothing jaw dropping. Perhaps they'd catch his eye later after all he was yet to reveal much. His ability was about as good as slashing wildly with that wakisashi right now. A good show, a time buyer, but ultimately pointless. The opponents were dropping like flies, heat, ice, electricity. That caught his eye again. He wondered if blood samples would be of any use in revealing her ability. Plenty of opportunity to get that no doubt.

The fight seemed to be over for now. The main party unharmed unlike the crew. He hadn't acted yet, just stood there. He hadn't needed to and cared little whether the others judged him for it. He hadn't needed to play a role. Why expend energy he didn't have to when others could do it perfectly well and play into his hands. If he'd taken one of them down not that he was best suited to it would of spoiled the others display. He'd act once he was done with his surveillance or the situation called for it.

Joseph turned the final turn into the hallway that held the group's rooms. "Find your rooms and gather your gear. Ve vill leave quickly. Five minutes maximum." He said and looked up seeing demons gathering on both sides. It seemed that they would have to fight their way to the dock. He still had his two soldiers with him, the ones in the back had all died. "Bleiben Sie in der Nähe von mir und wir halten diese Dämonen in Schach." He told them and the men though knowing that it was pointless raised their guns and began fireing. "If you have your gear support me in holding them off, then the real fight begins."

The demons charged Joseph and his two men. Joseph stepped forward in front of his two men who's bullets where tearing holes in the demons. Joseph's hand glowed softly like heated metal and he fired his lugar into one demon's face and then shoved his hand into the place it's chest appeared to be. A feirce angry hissing sounded from the boiling creature. "Sie wagen, vor mir?"

Danny pushed past those in his way and bolted towards his room. Five minutes? More like five seconds. He kicked open the door to what he knew was his room despite only having seen it twice from the outside and a few looks at the door when it had been opened for food.

He swept up the sniper rifle pulling the strap over his body to hold it to his back and allow him to keep his hands free. Once again he moved out into the corridor and rejoined the group where the others had barely even began to act. There was no point in using the rifle on these things he'd seen the assault rifles pepper it to no avail so one high speed bullet wouldn't prove much use. He waited expectantly for those in the group to perform what they had done before and remove the threat once more. Joseph seemed to be doing something effective even if he did insist on speaking a language only two useless crew members could understand. His one bane as an infiltrator, he was awful at most languages. Thats where the muscle came in to resolve anyone that questioned his cover.
