Right, so, this is the first Ardus thread. Ardus is a fantasy realm that will be full of all or most of the things common to classic fantasy; swords, knights, and battles; magic, mysteries, and divine presences; elves, dwarves, and orcs!

However, this is NOT a world haphazardly thrown together and based simply on a D&D rulebook. There are going to be several unique elements of the world that will make it sufficiently different from other fantasy realms. I am hoping that this will provide us with a bit more interest, and also make for more diverse characters.

As I recover, and as I take my few minutes of spare time, I'll attempt to get a feasible collection of posts together that will detail the exact nature of the world.

Hey everyone,

There's now a decent background up for Ardus, if you care to read. Finally get you guys the premise of the world a little better. Any suggestions are welcome!

Here's my to-do list before we start:
- Get the race info mostly finisheed.
- Add an entry on the basic deities.
- Get a map up.
- Add a few more threads.

I was wondering if I might go ahead and post up a profile. I feel that I have the vital info needed for my character so far.

Sure, mate, go ahead! I'm trying to get this checklist done before next week, and I shuold have a tavern open before too long.

Just thought I'd let you all know, too, in the main Ardus thread, at the end of the song I posted, the name of the song is a link that you can follow to a YouTube vid with the song.

To bad tht with the disappearence of Wizards (as a race) I can't use Edward's original concept... Guess I'll have to reinvent him

Woo hoo! It'll be great to see both of 'em back, CG. Wizards aren't a dedicated race, but there will be many different wizardly or religious orders hanging out everywhere, if you can use that fact. Heck, you can make up a wizardly order if you like.

Gonna try and get the map up today; along with some info on the dwarves, since I have a couple of you interested in playing them.

Is creating Guilds allowed as well? If so, I might have a few ideas

You bet! Just make sure you let me know beforehand so I can store it all away.

I encourage input from everyone; just make sure you inform me so I can work ideas together and keep things consistent for us.

Just noticed a very cool feature. I posted in the lose or loose thread and someone else posted while I was typing and a message popped up that someone else had posted and asked if I wanted to modify my post.

I can see that coming in real handy when we start in Ardus. Or I may never get a word in edgewise. I'm such a slowwwww typer.

Anyone who wants to assume that they were on the last Quest with Merri, feel free to work off of my post as though you were accompanying her back to the tavern.

I don't like using the same character for separate role-plays so I just made a new one. More of a pacifist this time around.

I ended up editing my post so that I accomanied you at some point, but I didn't do the full journey. It's not completely clear though. an't wait for all the action
