Sentence at a Time

Right! So, here's the plan. We write a story. However, in each post, you can only add one sentence. And you must wait until at least one other person has posted before you add another. Let's see what we can do!

I'll start.

The rain fell slow about the house, making a light hum on the rooftop and painting the scenes that lay out the windows in a moist, dreamy blur.

From the attic window peered a lone monster, concealed in shadowy repose, his glowing red eyes piercing the hazy depths of the approaching storm as his clawed hand held the blinds open for his viewing pleasure.

Darkness swirled about the creature, as memories of the past glory days appeared to him.

The little boy, his protector, had been only 16 years old - not more than a baby compared to his own age.

The thousand years of tyranny he had swept through the darkness, was brightened by the child's appearance.

It was raining when they had met, a day much like this one.

The dark clouds ran swiftly through the sky, thunder and lightning trembling in its wake.

The creature smiled at the thought of the wonderful weather that they were having.

Of course, this thought wouldn't last, the boy was struck down, bandits had come to kill the village, the boy being the target.
