Gobo

I want to experiment with something, see if it actually works online.

Summary:

The game of gobo is a combination between dungeons and dragons, and Warhammer 40k. Its part dice game, lots of comedy, all imagination. The GM (that's me) creates a world where you (the gobo) go about and have lots of random adventures.

Now what is a gobo you ask. A gobo is essentially a green gremlin, the lowest rank of an ork tribe. Most are enslaved by the orks to do their dirty work, however some are lucky enough to be free gobos. All gobos are idiotic, most of the things they do right are sheer dumb luck, that is why we involve the dice.

Rules & character set-up:

Here's how the game works...

First off you pick your character class, there are five classes to choose from.

Melee - gobo fighters that specialize in a multitude of CQC weaponry, such as swords or other melee weapons.

Shooter - this gobo specializes in long range combat, mainly guns, you know the rest.

Engineer - engineers are skilled in fixing or building mechanical devices, they use melee or shooting weapons, not both.

Explosive Specialist - the name is pretty obvious, these gobos specialize in blowing the crap out of anything, they use melee or shooting weapons, not both.

Driver - drivers are able to pilot any vehicle, plus they also know anatomy, making them, somewhat good, doctors, they use melee or shooting weapons, not both.

Next I'll roll a six sided di determining what your armor, basic weapon, and special weapon will be. 1 being the lowest, 6 being the highest. If you choose the melee class your basic weapon is a gun, your special being a melee weapon, shooter is vice versa. If you choose the last three classes you must specify what your basic weapon will be (i.e. melee or shooter), however they will not be as good as a melee or shooter class.

Finally I place you in a location and situation depending on the 6 sided di, 1-5 means your captured but the lower the number means the higher amount of orcs there are, if it lands on a 6 you're all free gobos and may travel as a group to 1 of the 3 specified locations I point you to (note: once you defeat your orc captors the same rule applies as if you started out as a free gobo)

If you go to a location you'll automatically be there, if you choose an action, let's say you want to shoot an orc in your path, specify that, then I'll roll a 20 sided di and determine what will happen. 1-5 means it was unsuccessful and something bad will happen to you, 6-15 means it was somewhat successful/unsuccessful, and you recieve minor damage, 16-20 means it was comepletely successful.
(Be creative with what you want to do, as I've said its all about imagination, do what you want)

There is a special rule involved known as 'Waaaaagh', this is the physical manifestation of the orc/gobo clans. If they want something to happen it happens, if you want a car to fix itself, that'll happen, if you want to crap out gold, it'll happen. 'Waaaagh' can only be achieved if the di lands on 6, and it can only be given in special situations, situations that the GM will determine.

The game only ends when people stop playing, you can die and resurrect a new character to the field. If you hated your shooter, make him a melee. However your stats will reset, and any equipment you recieved from your last character will be lost. Do not fear though, there are many adventures to be had in the world of gobo, and I hope you enjoy, hopefully I can get at least 2 people here to try it out.

Class: Engineer

Armor (3) - you recieve a simply average armor of thick leather with a thin layer of sheet metal. It rusts and gives your bottom a rash, but it at least works.

Basic Weapon (6) - you got an automatic nail gun, its as powerful as one hooked up to a generator, used for fixing material, or dakka dakkan orc skullz.

Special Weapon (4) - you've got a standard plus tool kit pack. Comes with all the essential equipment in a convenient storage bag.

Honorius

Class: Driver

Armor (3) - You've got a slightly damaged flak jacket, its already been used, but some armor is better than no armor.

Basic Weapon (2) - You got a paintball gun, the paintballs are frozen, and the velocity is high, so it hurts a lot.

Special Weapon (5) - You've got a large medi-pack equipped with a small bacta tank, plus you have a driving for dummy guidebook.

The bacta tank, also known as a rejuvenation tank or a rejuve tank[1], was a large, specialized tank that was filled with the powerful healing agent created by the Vratix, bacta, which promoted rapid healing.

However this device can also be used like morphine when you're in a warzone.

Shadow Dragon

Class: Shooter

Armor (1) - You're wearing a potato sack as a one size fits all clothing, and plastic bags for shoes. Even hobos have it better than you.

Basic Weapon (6) - You have a bowie knife that can cut through pretty much anything, with little to no wear, tear, or rust after use.

Special Weapon (6) - You've got the hyper cube, a small convenient cube like device that can transform into any weapon you desire. (limited to three weapons)

Paintball gun... Nailgun.. Magic Cube?? LOL That's fine, balances out his potatoe sack. LOL.

I've noticed that anyone who rolls a 1 usually gets more 6 rolls, and vice versa. I think you get the point. Anyways I believe we have enough victi- I mean people to play with now. Anyone else who wants to join up, only need to post a profile and I will literally fling you into the game.

Once I begin with the introduction post (which happens to be an average 3) all of you need to make an action post which I will roll upon. Only after everyone makes their action post will I post the result of their action, so that I don't make 3 or 4x the amount of posts than everyone else.

Let's begin...

Somewhere in the plains, you are an enslaved gobo traveling with an Ork convoy to an encampment where your services will be put into use. There are 8 orks surrounding you, 4 are sluggas (axe and pistol wielding orks), and 4 shootas (orks with machine guns), there are also two wartraks...

A fast and lightly armoured vehicle that nonetheless can boast impressive firepower. Ork mekboyz have the inherent ability to gather together discarded scraps of technology and cobble them together into a functional machine of war, or at least something that looks like one. (Oddly, that's usually all it takes.) The Wartrak is a good example of this; tank treads, assorted engine parts, handlebars, and scraps of armor that have been haphazardly thrown together with spot welds and recycled baling wire is "gud enuff" for the orks, and after a coat of red paint (to make it fastah) it's driven off into battle to make with the big booms! - courtesy of relic wiki.

you and your fellow gobos (3 chars, 4 NPCs) are all chained together and are being herded through the plains like little green cattle. What do you want to do?

(I'm not the one deciding what you do, you can simply attempt to escape, revolt against the orcs, and piss where you are standing, its all up to you, I just make the roll to see if you are successful or not)

Note: you do not notice another character's action until I produce the end result, and the end result will go in the order of the people who posted. (i.e. you will notice Chad's end result before Honorius', and Honorius' result before SD's.)

Snot was an angry little goblin with half an ear missing from some long gone wrong experiment. The little goblin laughed softly looking at the potatoe sack wearing goblin a few a head of him. He smirked digging a finger into his nose to flick a bogger at the oddly dressed goblin.

The potato sacked goblin grew bored. He decided to turn his shiny cube into a missile launcher and shot at the two wartracks.

Nerdy mechanic goblin walks quietly, not bothering anyone. He twiddles his thumbs.

The booger didn't fly as far as the gobo would have liked it, the booger instead landed on another gobo. The gobo felt it, and turned, causing a scuffle among a few of the gobos. The orks took notice of it and had to break up the fight by smacking each of the gobos on the head.

The rockets flew and blew two of the wartraks up. The orks looked around at where the shot came from, shortly stopping the group. After a few grunts and snorts, they simply nodded it off and stepped through the two medium sized and bloody craters.

Honorius

Even through twiddling his thumbs the Ork think he's up to something. After smacking him across the head a few times, leaving unsightly welts, the Orks continue moving onward.

This is such bull... The guy twiddling his thumbs gets smacked upside the head, but the guy with the rocket launcher gets a shrug of the shoulders? Just my luck...

After watching a small fight break out and seeing two wartraks getting blown up without a second thought, the nerdy mechanic goblin becomes very very angry when he is beat upside the head for merely twiddling his thumbs. So, he pulls out his paintball gun and shoots a shot pointblank at the nearest ork's eyeball.

Yay for forum errors! This wasn't supposed to show up twice...

Snot, throughly angry at the lump he'd been given and emboldened by the exploded orcs attempts to shoot one of the orcs in the back without being seen.

After laughing at the idiot orcs, Shooter's shiny cube became an assault rifle and he bagen shooting at the orks with the machine guns.

Turn 2

Honorius

Ork Intelligence: -8

The gobo shoots his paintball gun into the eye of the Ork, causing it to go right through the eye and implode his brain, instantly killing him. The other Orks don't even care to notice.

Snot fires automatic burst of nails into the Orks back, one of the shots pierces the Orks spinal cord and he falls to the ground dead, the other Orks simply shake it off.

After firing multiple bursts from the assault rifle the gobo had felled 3 Orks in the sweeping motion.

Snot lets out a hoot, thouroughly enjoying himself as he tucks the nail gun into his belt, and takes out some tools going to work on his chains. Making sure to only release himself from the bondage.

Seeing how the group has successfully killed a ton of stinky orks, Nerdy decides to shoot at the last slugga's eyes.
