| I'm curious: is anyone interested in an RPG with rune-based magic?
It's the concept I tried in another forum and it sort of died, but I do like it, so I want to see if anyone's interested.
I'll be willing to give the plot if you want.

| Personally, most of what we've done and is popular on this site has been classic fantasy, or something similar to it. Rather than more swords and sorcery, I'd really love to see something different and unique; intrigue, film noir, cyberpunk, space opera, etc. | |

| I'm not sure I've ever seen an RPG mystery work out yet. I started one but it died off because I didn't know very much about how to structure a game. If it was put together well, though, I think a mystery would be great! | |

| I think mystery functions better as an aspect of an RP instead of the central focus. | |

| Okay, here's another idea:
There's been a plane crash and a certain number of survivors have to survive on a deserted island. (Original, I know)
Here's the catch: Each survivor has one item, and one item only. (clothing doesn't count) And these aren't useful items, but rather the one thing that they have in their pocket. Since this is an airplane, no knives or weapons, but pencils, gum, maybe a wallet or a compact, but nothing crucial to survival. And no one can be a person with previous experience in survival. (no former army people or whatever)
It'd probably be mission-based, with me providing certain objectives players need to accomplish. I'd also spring random events on them to keep it going, like poisoned water or sickness. People would probably die. Anyone interested?

| Heh, it's sortof like Lost, I admit. I probably won't make it as strange as Lost though. | |

| No...but surely there will be a mysterious hatch! Going to...somewhere. If we can get it open.
Yeah. | |

| As long as there is a black ship with a load of dinamite, I'm game.
Because, COME ON, the way that physics teacher died was freaking hilarious. We all laughed. Confess it!

| LOL, yes I laughed, loudly. I also laugh during nightmare on elm street movies. Freddy Kugar is so awsomely sarcastic and clever.
Hmm, I'm considering running another steampunk type fantasy like I did before. (Mist- magic = science) Anyone interested in playing another game like that? Maybe slightly less complicated, it got to indeapth last time and people got bored.

I would answer that, I would! But I don't want to possibly incriminate myself.

| Um, I don't watch Lost as much as you guys . . . *feels as though she's unleashed a monster*
So you guys would be interested in the deserted island scheme? Don't worry, it'll be nice and mysterious and dangerous, just no polar bears. (lol)

| Its ok Anir, if you have to face a monster, you won't face it alone, considering I don't watch Lost either.
*Takes up giant blade and double barreled 44. Magnum*
And yes, a desert island sounds nice. I've always wanted to go to Figi.

| I am new to the place, but I have a concept..... I will share and let me know what you think..... I was thinking of maybe a flash game that was a little different. I have a concept surrounding "bullet" time. For those of you who do not know what this is, I will explain. Bullet time is, typically, when a video game goes slow-mo. If you will recall it is also the time that Neo went all dodging bullets in the movie, The Matrix. I was thinking of doing a RPG in this mode. The movements would be deliberate and must be made with great care to ensure that your outcome would be the one that is desired. Not to mention you may have to interact with other players in the situation as well. It would have be very descriptive. Also precise. I am an old DnD player. I have a little old school XP with DMing. I think this would be a great challenge to tackle! Please let me know your thoughts on the concept. Thank you for your time and kind regards. | |
