So yeah, since I have some ime for myself, and no one seems to reply on anything but my MMORPG rant (I'm better now. Really.), I decided to inform you all that I am done with computer games alltogether (not counting this forum... although I wouldn't call this a game. More of an obsession Wink ) (And not with Diablo 2. But other than that, no more conputer games for me.)

The reason for this has me really excited; a friend of mine, who, like me, is starting uni this year, has recently moved into his new place, which is about 5 minutes from my home. Now it should be said that this is great, since I never had any friends living so close (that's what you gt for going to a school two cities away). Spoke to him yesterday, and we've decided that not only is he going to introduce me the Magic (the card game (he is one of the 20 best players in the Netherlands)), we are also going to try our hands at a tabletop game.

Fantasy-freaks we are, we decidd to settle with Warhammer fantasy.

For those not familiar with the concept; Warhammer fantasy is a game in which you battle oponents by moving armies that consist out of miniatures. Thyere are set rules on how far an enemy can move, and dices to do damage etc.. Think of it like D&D, only without the grid, and with lots and lots of enemies.

Now I was wondering if anyone has ever played it. It is suprisingly popular, and there are a lot of major tournaments around. Really, I was shocked.

Lt me know what you're thinking. Bout half a week till I can start amassing my Skaven (human-like rats) to fight his... who knows (probably elves... always him and his bloody elves...).

lol! I've seen it played, but never played it myself, actually; though I have played a bit of Magic: The Gathering, which is amazing fun (played with other people's decks once or twice). Let me know how it goes!

I've played, really enjoyed it if your playing with people that are cool and have not just build a completely flangy army that is just beardy and makes the game horrid (powergamer). It can also be very expensive, but really enjoyable at the same time in the right company.

Still toying around with the concept... Maybe do some more serious reserach after my Flash Game is out.

Go go cheap-Skaven-Tactics (Skitterleap + a Skrye gun army). What armies did you play Steedy?

Err i played alot, prob most to be fair, aswell as 40k and all the specialist games, my main army was chaos though, alwaystook marauders even though they were pretty bad, they were cool and a laugh. Orcs and Goblins are fun too.

To bad GW decided to butcher Chaos into beasts, deamons and mortals...

Oh well, still in love with the Skaven... Buying 'Battle for Skull Pass'tomorrow, which is a Dwarf VS Gobbie starter-set. Then just some random models, see what I like to paint.

So I bought the starter set today, and actualy played a little game vs a member of the staff. Got horribly, horribly slaughtered, but at least I got the joy of seeing by troll charge trough a line of archers, only to charge a cannon-crew. Managed to kill 2 out of 3 before the rest of my army was wiped out and the troll was horribly maimed by nearly a dozen dwarves.

Ouch.

Great game though! Now, to paint about 108 models...

(Did 1 so far! Although I gave him a lot more care then I will give the others. Lets see if I can get a picture up...)
